Dark Blue

This is a video done by a group of students from my first period class. Brandon is the star of this video along with Jessica. Michael is the editor. All three combined for a well done project.

This video blew me away. I remember seeing this during video class. Great Job! I've been trying to work on my own individual music video project, and this just inspires me to actually get it done and blow people away. This was one of the best videos i have seen so far this year in this class. It even seems like its a real music video. Good lip-synching too. I really love this video. GREAT JOB and keep up the good work!

Vlad4ever...I agree. The multiple angles on the different lines of the song showed how much work was put into this video. This is up there when it comes to talking about the best videos this program has seen.

Wow! This is a spot on professional video!

I agree with both of you --- these kids are out of this world with talent. Struke, yes, I am saying it again --- you are a darn good director/teacher. These kids make it look easy, when I know that it's not.

Bravo!

Amias...I agree. I could watch this video over and over and not get tired of it. Brandon, Michael, and Jessica are amazing.

This is one of those videos that will get shown to future classes every-year as an example of great camerawork, planning, and execution. These kids NAILED it!

Thank you for the compliments.

hey struke...I know everyone has been giving great comments on this one, but I guess I just have a couple things to say that aren't 100% positive.

First off, I did like the video...but I feel like there was potential for something even greater. Some shots were amazing (the way the subjects were framed and the shot that circled around) and some timing with the music was well edited. However, other shots weren't that great. There were a few times where I got a bit bored with seeing the same shots just cut back and forth... and I guess I'm just picky but the actor could have mouthed the words a little bit better, but the editor did pretty well on lining up the shots that did and did not work with the lips. Also, there were a few times when the actor could have displayed a little bit more emotion.

It was a good idea, and I liked that they didn't just do the same old music that always gets done for these projects. However, I think that they could have done a lot more (don't get me wrong, it turned out really well, and I can tell it was actually planned out), and I can see a lot of potential from these students if they hammer out a few of the little issues.

So sorry to be the semi-negative reviewer here, but I figure if you are truly trying to work on your craft you need to hear constructive criticism, not just flat out compliments. However, good job and I hope to see more from them in the future.

Rebecca D...you are always welcome to post your reviews on here.

****Note to readers of this blog: Rebecca was my Outstanding Junior and Outstanding Senior a couple years ago when she went through my Excel TECC video broadcasting program. Her work ethic is legendary. Rebecca, I believe, was the first person to have a 100% for the quarter in my any grading period of my classes. She was phenomenal.

Rebecca is someone who I knew would give me 100% all of the time and would be brutally honest.
