University Hall (pictured above) on the campus of the University of Toledo will be my new "home" this fall. Yesterday, I accepted a full-time lecturer position there in the mass communications department. This begins an exciting new chapter in my life. I had an on-campus interview at U-T last week and the campus and the friendliness of the staff really impressed me. The University of Toledo has a remarkably beautiful campus. If you aren't planning on going to school there, or are on the way to Detroit or are driving through that part of the state, you need to stop by to see what the campus looks like. It's amazing.I said 'good bye' today to many people at my now former job at Aurora High School. I have so many good things to say about Aurora High School. It's one of the best districts in the state of Ohio, without question! So many colleagues made working there worthwhile. I had a lot of fun teaching. Sure, it had it's stressful moments as any job does but the kids and especially my co-workers, some of whom I have introduced to you on this blog, are really great people and made the job what it is.

Toledo has a very nice campus. Many of the graduating seniors (my son's classmates) from this area are planning to attend there this fall. Although, as a BGSU alum myself, (and rival of Toledo)I'm not allowed to cheer for the Rockets teams. HA!

Frasypoo...thank you for those words. I appreciate it. The coolest thing is that I have been hearing from former students of mine who are happy that I am moving up. It's a good feeling to know that I impacted students in that way that they would care to say 'congratulations.'

Readers of this board...the young lady who posted above is one of the coolest students ever. Jayme is an incredible writer. In my six years of teaching the video class I expect to see her name on the credits of a big time production someday.
Oh, and yes! I will definitely miss your group, the Mayfield gang is a special group.

Biana...I really appreciate the comments you wrote. College is a big step up and I am excited for the challenge. For you, the senior year is your last big step before college. I hope you really make it a good one. Like I said many times to your class, "you can't get away with that at college" or "good luck doing that at college." Keep those sayings in mind. It becomes the 'real deal' once you leave high school.
