Bruce Springsteen's Performance
What did you think of the halftime show? It didn't set the world on fire for me. I'm not a big Springsteen fan. It was ok. I'll say that much. People are talking about Bruce's "crotch first" slide into the camera. On the video, it is 3:43 in. While that is getting a lot of hype, I can't believe I haven't heard as much a peep about Springsteen's "hold his mic stand penis" move. This is 1:22 into the show! Hello!

Yeah, I don't get why no one thinks the mic-penis move is a big deal. It shocked me. It makes you wonder what people are thinking. Maybe they thought he couldn't get back up. I guess Bruce could never do anything THAT bad! I actually missed the crotch cam shot.

As a huge Springsteen fan here ... what he did was try to condense his 3-hour shows into 12 minutes.
The stage slide, piano jump, guitar toss, mic stand lean, and guitar sling are all staples.
I think his voice sounded "not tour ready" on Born To Run and Working On a Dream.
He said he wanted to make the show a "12-minute party" I think he succeeded.
He's probably not the right kind of artist for that kind of short show though.
Dee and Chris: I am still surprised no one is talking about it...even if those moves are "staples" for the Boss. The complaints that Prince got over his silhouette far outnumbered what the Boss is getting.
I was amazed he is still this limber.
