I apologize. I spent all afternoon trying to upload video projects to YouTube with little success due to choppy playback. However, I was able to get this great video up by one of my first graduates from Solon, Mike Monacco. Mike did this video as part of a diversity assignment.
Mike was one of the best students I've ever had. He attacked each assignment with a lot of dedication and creativity. He comes from a great family as well.

Living in such a diverse area, stories like that are what should be a regular feature on local newscasts. I hope that young man has a bright future in media.
WIXY...I also hope Mike does well. He is close to graduating from college in California. He wants to be a country music video director. Great kid.
This interview could have been done by a professional. The kid is good, and this was a good human interest story, with a little bit of history. Need more of this on the news!
His voice wasn't as clear as it could have been, but based on his grade, etc. he did a hellva job.
Tell me, how much will these kids charge to do a 30 second or 1 minute commercial? Nothing fancy --- I am serious.
Amias...thanks for the feedback. Mike was a junior when he did the barber shop video. Not too shabby. I bet those guys in the shop would really make you feel at home. They seemed down to earth.
How much to charge for a commercial done by my students? My kids haven't been offered to produce commercials for any business. However, I imagine if they were offered, there would probably be a trade worked out like if a local restaurant wanted my class to do a commercial for them in exchange for free dinners or something.
Figuring out a rate for a production is so tricky. Some ad agencies charge outrageous sums of money. A lot depends on the scope of the project, the client, and the intended audience (where the ad would be shown).
